# Connected apps

> Let Claude Desktop and other AI apps on your computer use your calls and playbooks.

Connected apps let an AI app on your computer, such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor, look through your StageWhisper calls and playbooks. Each app gets only what you allow, and you can take access away at any time.

## Turn it on

Click the cog on the control bar to open **Settings**, choose **Integrations** and scroll to **Connected apps**. Switch on **Let apps on this Mac use your Library**. On Windows the switch says **this computer**.

You need a way to run sessions before you can switch it on: a connected assistant, the model on your computer, or an active plan.

## Add StageWhisper to Claude Desktop

1. Click **Connect an app** and choose **Claude Desktop**.
2. Pick what Claude can do and for how long.
3. Click **Add to Claude**. Claude Desktop opens and asks to install StageWhisper.
4. Click **Install** in Claude.

Then start a new chat in Claude and ask about your calls, such as "What did we agree on my last call?" You don't need to paste anything or restart Claude.

If Claude Desktop isn't installed, StageWhisper tells you and shows the setup text instead. Install Claude Desktop and click **Try again**, or follow the steps above the text to set it up by hand.

If Claude says it didn't pass along your StageWhisper connection, update Claude Desktop. Then, under **Connected apps** in StageWhisper, click **Change** on the Claude Desktop row and then **Add it to Claude again**.

## Connect another app

Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT and Windsurf each have their own setup text. For any other app that keeps a list of tool servers, choose **Other app**.

1. Click **Connect an app** and choose the app.
2. Pick what it can do and for how long, then click **Connect**.
3. Follow the steps above the setup text, then click **Done**.

The setup text works like a password, so paste it only into the app you picked.

## What an app can do

| Choice | What it allows |
| - | - |
| **Read your calls** | Summaries, transcripts and chats, plus your playbooks. |
| **See screenshots from your calls** | Screenshots can show anything that was on your screen during a call. |
| **Follow calls while they happen** | The app sees what's said while the call is still going. |
| **Edit your playbooks** | The app's changes shape what StageWhisper tells you during calls. |
| **Mark how calls went** | The app can record how a call turned out. |

Apps that can make changes or follow calls get an hour unless you pick longer. You can choose **For 1 hour**, **Until tomorrow** or **Until I remove it**.

What a connected app reads goes to that app, and on to whichever AI service it uses. For Claude Desktop, that's Anthropic.

## Change or remove an app

Each connected app has its own row, with its recent activity underneath. Click **Change** to adjust what it can do or for how long. Click **Remove** and it stops reading your calls straight away.

If you removed StageWhisper from Claude Desktop, click **Change** on its row, then **Add it to Claude again**.
